action figures, plastic

John K, [tagged] whose unique animation gave me gross-out gags to grow up with, put his talents and critiques into a set of three Presidential Candidates figures. He began the concept and the sculpts while Hillary Clinton was still in the race, and she now emerges full of hope and backside in this final version. Flanking Hillary Clinton (7.5″) are the two men that will go head to head in next week’s historical election. It’s the 08 Race to the White House. Now race to Meltdown Comics (11/1 at 2PM in Los Angeles) and back to your house to show off your new Barack Obama (9″) or John McCain (8.5″) political dolls. From the genius mind of John K., creator of Ren and Stimpy comes these limited edition toys. Each doll comes shipped in its own deluxe packaging. There are 3000 of each figure, and they will retail for $24.99 each. You can find a fun interview with John K here on the Melt blog. When asked if he has enjoyed this political cycle more than others in his past, he replies: “I am not all that political myself. I watch all the news and debates and am amazed at what all the candidates get away with. I’m Canadian, so the extremes of Republican and Democrat hatred amaze me. I find them both equally bizarre and arbitrary. And funny.”
