Jeremyville Does New York City

designers, events, vinyl

Fun and spunky, lively and wicked stylish—these are some of the adjectives you could use to describe Mr. Jeremyville and at Thursday’s signing, none of these fell short. Australian artist, Jeremyville, made a visit to KidRobot NY to drop the bomb referred to as: The Nightmare in Jeremyville 8” Dunny (SRP: $50). If you picked up the Dunny, you know he came accompanied by a comic strip poster that details just what that nightmare is, but not to worry, if you didn’t—you can check it out over here.

When first arriving to KidRobot, my first priority was to meet the Aussie native himself before he fled the premises—and therefore, I didn’t even bother looking around. Upon closer inspection of his surroundings, I noted his awesomely bright and whimsical chucks (Converse) and a 20” custom Dunny he had on display right next to him. I’m still trying to get more info on the chucks, which I hope to add to my collection of sneakers—but when I asked about the custom Dunny, I was informed that he’d customized it that very same day!

If you’re a New Yorker who loves Jeremyville’s style and happens to have two grand in your bank account, I think this custom would be a great acquisition. The designs, which are done in black, are a great contrast to the pastel pink of the Dunny. It is filled with many NYC references; i.e., The Lower East Side, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bowery, KRNY, and CBGBs, just to name a few. Also, I did want to let you know that if you’re in the NYC area during October, you might run into him during an art opening/show as he plans to be around for the month. The man is a pleasure to be around and I hope we get a chance to meet again during his stay in NY.
