ToyCyte: Toy Culture Collected

Skullbrain’s kinda blowing me away with the kaiju incredibleness lately, and these previews from this upcoming weekend’s show are no exception.
[Toycyte's own!] LiLJAPAN is submitting no less than five different custom Beetlars – Two Tone, Rose From The Dirt, Laser Show, Hot Lava and Galaxy Camo. Seeing five different colorways from the same artist, in one place, does something incredible to speak to the subtleties and personalities that a little bit of airbrushing can create.

Fiends Ain’t Family [aka Joe] drops the ‘Zombie Jesus’ Rangeas with a ridiculous amount of depth to the delicate mix of colors used on its damned shiny self, once again busting my brain with the sheer possibility of color.

And REdYOdA! What the hell, man? His Heavy Metal Dempa-gon & Ampa-gon are actually a functioning, bastardized theremin, in addition to looking like the most amazing kaiju ever. Never was a half-melted face so attractive. Not even that drunken, regrettable fumblefest I had in college. REdYOdA’s second submission, Gas Bawer, actually emits volcanic smoke via a small 9V battery unit, too. If this isn’t the very definition of ‘show-stealer’, I don’t know what is.
