Last month, we told you that Anna Chamber’s Plush Apples were coming and here they are…just in time for spring. The apple designs are based off an animated student film Anna did back in 1998 entitled “Fresh Fruit.” The apples apparently co-starred in this film with a banana character. When you see how adorable the frowning apples are, you will wish for Anna to make a sequel including a new character I just made up called Sour Grapes. Her plush apples come in Happy Red, Happy Green, Sad Red and Sad Green. They’re made of a really soft velour that makes you want to hold them for long periods of time. They measure a bit bigger than your standard apple at about 4 inches round (not including stem and leaf). Each comes in it’s own plastic Trader Joe’s-like shell with sticker.

Limited to:

  • Happy Red (ripe & juicy):  450 pieces
  • Happy Green (crisp & delicious) :  200 pieces
  • Sad Red (tart & tangy) :  200 pieces
  • Sad Green (sad & sour):  150 pieces

Good for plush collectors and children over 3. They retail for $14.99 and can be found at stores like Cardboard Spaceship, Giant Robot, My Plastic Heart and ShopRockCandy. In the near future, expect some sort of Buckeye Rot-style photo-shoot wherein Anna and I get escorted out of The Berkeley Bowl.
