Coming next Friday, September 5th at 12 Noon PST, Huck Gee is releasing a new figure in his Jungle Life series. Of the Munny known as Spike, this much is speculated: “Something about this little fella brings to mind nothing but trouble. In fact, I’d be a little more than worried when Spike is out alone at night. Just what kind of hi-jinx does this little guy get himself into? And what exactly are those little evil looking claws used for?”
Pursuant to a new, increased run size for this figure, there will be 10 additional hand-painted customs in this set, for a total of 20 Spikes available at $600 each. Writes Huck: “Every now and then we’re gonna up the run sizes and see what happens. By doing this we can bring prices down a bit and also give more fans a chance to get their hands on one of Huck’s customs. We won’t be able to do this for every set, some of these sets are simply too detailed, and quality comes before quantity.” I’d like to think my post here helped set the scene for this…
As Sunny mentioned earlier, Huck and crew are cracking down on eBay flipping. Come on people. Do you really want the artists in the scene having to police eBay for hacked usernames and fake-ass cities? There’s already a flipped Buff Monster Web Exclusive on the ‘Bay. These sold out yesterday and haven’t even shipped yet. The seller wants 4X yesterday’s price. Buff noticed this jackassery and won’t be shipping the figure. Nice! Good luck with that negative feedback and account suspension, ya flippin’ douche.
Anyhow, I asked Huck if the people who pick up his customs are typically the same folks each time and he said that usually “there are about a dozen or so folks who battle it out” with a few new names popping up for each figure. The increased run size for Spike ought to help more fans get access.
Speaking of fans, Huck has unveiled two new custom 20″ Munnys for his most dedicated collectors. The Skullhunter and Skullhuntress are offered at $3,500 each and prospective buyers are directed to email sales [at] huckgee [dot] [com]. If it’s Spike you’re after, click into Huck’s eBay store on 9/5 at noon.

I’ve never been one to shy away from discussing “elitism” or prices, but I honestly have no idea what you mean. If anything, this post shows a decrease in any “elitism” by this designer since a larger run gives more people access.
