Beyond Toys, events

The euro is kicking our ass here in the land of the lowly dollar. That means I won’t be jetting off to Europe anytime soon, which is a shame since I love me some European style. But you don’t have to endure the long flight and even longer credit card bills when you can just pop into the Black Maria Gallery in LA and check out the How We Grow show. The exhibit will feature new original pieces from The London Police (from Amsterdam), Flying Fortress (from Germany), Galo (from Italy) and Pez (from Spain). It’s one big gooey European melting pot which will probably all be quite delicious. The opening ceremonies will be on Saturday May 17th from 7-10pm and there will be Flying Fortress prints available and all the artists will mash it up on a live painting date at the gallery (the piece will be auctioned off on eBay with proceeds going to the Monkey Sanctuary Trust)
