Samuel L. Jackson seems like a pretty cool guy, and even moreso after I recently found out that he does a voice of a wannabe white gangster on [adult swim]’s The Boondocks. So, while I reserve judgment on the quality of his upcoming role in ‘The Spirit’, his Hot Toys ‘Octopus’ action figure looks pretty awesome - and not just because I have an unusual fixation on cephalopods.
With Hot Toys as the gold standard for quality 1/6th scale figures, Sam is decked out in full villainous regalia, including five guns, and all sorts of removable costume pieces, including that saucy coat that I wouldn’t mind having in my size. He’ll run about $200 and be released during the spring of 2009, at the same time as his archnemesis, The Spirit. No 12″ femme fatales have been announced yet, but as a dominant part of Eisner’s pulpy universe, it’d be a crime to omit them from the lineup.
Of course, you can now go into full-on Samuel L. Jackson party mode and keep Sideshow’s 12″ Mace Windu company, as well as NECA’s Pulp Fiction GeOms, and if you want to stretch it, Disney’s Frozone.
I’ll stretch it.
