Hauke Scheer Hand-Paints Surreal Resin Monsters

action figures, custom, vinyl

I really don’t know what’s going on over in Germany, but I have concrete evidence that it involves robotic seahorse soldiers, pigs on stilts, and a homoerotic dog bounty hunter named ‘Dick Satisfaction’. I’m a little queasy, really. But mostly with fascination. And a little barechested man-dog.

Artist Hauke Scheer began customizing his own original action figures, and eventually moved into modeling them in 3D and ordering one-off resin prototypes from China, which he’d then hand-paint and use as display figures at shows and for potential customers - and they’re exceptionally bizarre. His unique collection displays an intense fetish for all things nipple (as bounty hunter Dick Satisfaction somehow launches hand grenades from his, after stretching them out a foot or two), but a majority of his figures are very kaiju-friendly, clearly showing a fondness for surreal monsters and robot-suited abominations. His work is definitely worth taking a good look at - and if we beg him hard enough, we may someday have our very own Calamor figures.
