Guy Robot Designs With Detritus

Rich Muller creates robots who tug at your heart (and purse strings) whether you are into kawaii or steampunk. Each Guy Robot is made up of a careful combination of salvaged industrial refuse, including: aerospace and avionics surplus suppliers, automotive salvage yards, long-haul microwave equipment recyclers, decommissioned plumbing and refrigeration remnants, vintage hand-tool swap-meet winnings and neighborhood curbside recycling. Likening himself to Dr. Frankenstein, Muller goes from parts to parturition and the personalities of new Guy Robots materialize. The process consists of “one-part slide-rule calculation, two-parts trial-and-error metallurgical alloying, and four-parts leap-of-faith improvisation.” Visit Guy Robot to read more about these creations. Prices start at $500.
