Great Resin Toy Tutorial on Bard’s Blog

Thu, Nov 13, 2008

Misc, custom, resin, vinyl

Bard is a Norwegian designer living in Oslo, who I last wrote about here on behalf of his adhesive Pop Clings. In between exhibiting art and making products (shirts, kicks and decks), Bard is working on a resin toy in the form of a husky dog. He’s created a tutorial for other first-timers that takes you from the 3D modelling/prototyping stage to making a silicone mold (including LEGOS) and finally, through pouring the resin. It’s a really informative and clear piece with tons of links and specifics. Plus, once you get to the end, you can see some sprayed up final huskies on nice pile carpet. I’m not yet down with all those newfangled social-bookmarking networks, so in the meantime, here’s an ordinary link. Check it all out on the Bard Blog.
