Below are the final pix and info rounding out the weekend of Comic Con! Only 360 more days to prepare for the next one…
Muttpop Molly
It was great to finally get to see this figure in person. I love the look, and that pink and blue colorway is GREAT! Yet another figure that needs to be seen up close. My photos just don’t seem to do it any justice! This was probably my favorite thing at the Muttpop booth (though any Dr. Destruction is a close second). I missed Bill’s signing/sketching session, though, so here’s hoping he’ll be back again next year! Congrats on the Eisner nomination for Best Humor Publication! Hopefully next year it’s a full win.
He Man and the Masters of the Universe
So Mattel and the Four Horsemen are going to be releasing a new line of He-Man figures based on the original 80’s designs and sculpts, but updated slightly. These aren’t the over-stylized characters from a few years back. These are going to be more closely related to the very first line, and will include the original weapons (so He-Man will have his battle axe), scale (Whiplash won’t be massive; he’ll be the same size) and possibly even a mini comic. As the line progresses, there’s plans to release characters seen only in the comics, or ones that never made it past concept phase. These guys are only going to be available through the new Matty Collector site, and a new figure will be released monthly!
Lifesize Bramble
Seen at the IDW booth, this guy was looking pretty good. It would have been nice for him to have some kind of weaponry, or maybe looking more dynamic, but it was cool to see Ashley Wood’s work in such a large scale. Maybe next year we can get a Bertie…?
