I’ve got a serious thing going on for Dr. Grordbort’s steampunk rayguns by WETA Collectibles, but at $700 each, they’ve remained safely out of my grasp. If only I’d skipped that blasted art school. And gone to raygun school.

Fortunately, Dr. Grordbort’s FMOM Wave Disruptor Gun has been miniaturized to 1/4 scale and less than 1/10th the price – so while it won’t be a full-sized raygun to you and me, it’ll be perfect for the much maligned and oft-forgotten 1/4 scale person. The FMOM joins the already shrinkified Manmelter 3600ZX and Goliathon 83.

While these miniature versions don’t come with the gorgeous, fabric-lined display cases that the full-sized models do, the relative affordability balances it all out. With the money you’ve saved, you can probably afford the $8000 ray-blunderbuss, limited to only 50 pieces worldwide. Four enormous feet or raygun at only  $160 per inch. On some planets, that’s a bargain.
