Doktor A has broken my heart yet again. How did this magnificent streampunk customizer who is known for “Character driven clashes of urban pop culture, classic children’s stories and neo-Victorian industrial neverlands..’” almost make me cry this morning? By looking at his insanely beautiful and gorgeously executed “Blavatski & Sons Automated Kismet Disseminator” custom he did for the upcoming MADL custom show at LIFT. The tears were because I know I’ll never be able to possess it.

This fortune-telling MadL will “Speak Your Fortune” or not, since he comes with an Out of Order sign. Also included are the instructions for using the machine that are posted on the top of the figures head as well as a variety of messages such as “You Will Live Happily, until Wednesday”, and “Your Life Will Be Full of Fish”. This custom has such amazing detail. Is it from 1908 or 2008? Sometimes with his work it’s hard to tell. The Lift Show will be opening on October 25th and LIFT is located outside of Detroit in Royal Oak. For more photos of this stunning piece check out Vinyl Pulse’s collection of photos here.
