Devilock Palmboy X Hennessy = Rappers’ Delight

Isn’t it rad when toys and adult vices collaborate? Sends a swell message to the kiddies…I’m thinking of the Guinness Halloween Trexis and possibly everything Smorkin’ by Frank Kozik. But then again, everybody knows these toys aren’t for kids–especially everyone who’s seen a tot open up a French Dunny blind box and get Koralie only to end up using it as a pacifier. But I digress.

In a cool collab that began with a Hong Kong pop-up store and returns with another concept store in the capital city of Taiwan, popular Cognac brand Hennessy and Japanese urban brand Devilock have created a special Palmboy figure. Nine retailers around Taiwan will be offering the 2.5-inch toys (blind-boxed in red and black colorways) as a promotion with the sale of 700 ml bottles of Hennessy VSOP. Each buyer will have the opportunity to win a VIP box set containing a gold Palmboy and an invitation to the VIP party/grand opening of the Hennessy x Devilock Taipei City Concept Store later in July. In addition to the black and red standard colorways and the gold VIP colorway, a brown Palmboy will be available at the party. The party is going to be banging with Cognac flowing, a 120cm (47 inch) Palmboy sculpture and Hennessy X Devilock branded Poker. In the meantime, a series of limited shirts and caps will be on hand for purchase.

Here’s a toy that’s sure to get the rappers rapping about it! I’d actually really like to have one of these. Any color would suffice. If you’re overseas and in a position to procure one, please email me. That reminds me of a recent SNL Weekend Update wherein it was surmised that if oil prices get any higher, rappers will start drinking gas. We’re almost up to $5 in the Bay Area now. Pass the pimp cup, G.  (More pics after the jump.)
