CultJesusTeaser-1Are you an artist/aspiring artist who enjoys cult movies? Gallery 1988: LA is holding a contest at Ain’t It Cool News. Last year Gallery 1988 hosted “Crazy 4 Cult,” an art show with over 50 artists reinterpreting classic cult films. This year’s installment is titled “Crazy 4 Cult 2: This Time It’s Personal.” Opening on August 22, 2008, the show will be hosted by Kevin Smith and Scott Mossier.

So what’s the contest? You submit an entry of any medium that re-interprets a classic cult film.

  • One winner will be chosen to be included in the show
  • The prize package also includes limited edition posters and prints from last year’s show and those released at this year’s show
  • The pieces can be no larger than 18″ x 24″
  • Submissions must be emailed by August 3, 2008

For complete contest details including email address, visit AICN’s contest link. Contest or not, it’s a great concept for a show. Designed by 2cents, the teaser poster promises an awesome show.

I'm a nerd who loves music, movies, graphic novels, and of course toys. I grew up in Los Angeles, and I currently live in the non-plastic part of Orange County. I'm a sucker for anything that is little and cute: plushies, Dunnys, Smorkin' Labbits, zipper pulls. My collection is dominated by Kozik and Uglydolls, and my latest obsession is IWG/Rocket World.
