It looks like those hardcore collectors out there didn’t set the alarm for the Pop Culture Christies auction last week (on June 25th). With all the items with estimates from about $300 to $10,000, the most anyone paid for a lot was $1250 and those were for the Kidrobot Visionaire Sets, Dunny Complete Set and the two Suckadelic pieces. Was it the high estimates that gave the collectors sticker shock or are designer toys just not ready for the high end auction house circuit? High Estimate items like the amazing Amanda Visell Gnome Eating Bat Munny ($3000-$5000), the Kidrobot Tilt and Mist set (estimates $8000-$10,000) and the Kidrobot Sket One King Dunny ($3000-$5000) didn’t sell. If I had the money laying around, I surely would have raised my paddle for those pieces. Below are the sell prices for the items that did get bids.
Kidrobot Visionaires 44 & 45 – $1250
Kidrobot Dunny Complete Sets (3) $1250
Kidrobot Deph $625
Kidrobot Huck Gee – Hello My Name Is Set $625
