Cameron Tiede’s show “Analog Punch” opens at the La Luz de Jesus Gallery this Friday, June 6th. The opening reception will take place from 8pm – 11pm. At the show, he will have a special GID colorway of his Melvin resin toy. Only six of these pieces exist, so get to the show early if you want one. At the Vinyl Toy Network, I saw Melvin at the Pretty in Plastic booth. I was impressed at how great it looked. Although I like the bright colors of the original Melvin, I prefer the darker colorway of the special edition. Maybe I’m a little biased because I know how rare this one is.

On his blog, he posted a few sneak previews of his paintings. The preview includes a glimpse of his extra-large painting (40″ x 20″): “When It Snows in Hell.” The dark blue Melvin looks like he is about to wreak havoc. After seeing these paintings, I already know it’s going to be a fantastic show.

I'm a nerd who loves music, movies, graphic novels, and of course toys. I grew up in Los Angeles, and I currently live in the non-plastic part of Orange County. I'm a sucker for anything that is little and cute: plushies, Dunnys, Smorkin' Labbits, zipper pulls. My collection is dominated by Kozik and Uglydolls, and my latest obsession is IWG/Rocket World.
