Cameron Tiede just posted a bunch of pictures from his Analog Punch show at La Luz Gallery. If you visit the gallery’s site, you’ll notice that some of his pieces are already sold. The show looks awesome, and one of my favorites is “Spectroscopic Binary” (above left). It’s a bit different from his other work, and I like the composition of the Cameron-critters. The special edition GID Melvins are the perfect companions to his paintings (above right). To see all of the pictures, visit his blog.

Melvin looks great in several shades of blue, and the close-up shots show how well-made the toy is. If you wanted one, you’ll have to visit the gallery or admire it from afar. As expected, the six GID Melvins are all sold out. If you want to see the paintings in-person, the show runs until June 29th. On the website, I noticed that he teaches illustration and design classes at Art Center College of Design and FIDM. Wouldn’t it be great to have Cameron Tiede as a teacher? I think you’d learn a lot about colors and character design.

I'm a nerd who loves music, movies, graphic novels, and of course toys. I grew up in Los Angeles, and I currently live in the non-plastic part of Orange County. I'm a sucker for anything that is little and cute: plushies, Dunnys, Smorkin' Labbits, zipper pulls. My collection is dominated by Kozik and Uglydolls, and my latest obsession is IWG/Rocket World.
