When I was a kid and Return of the Jedi came out, my parents bought me a rad “lightsaber” that was just a black flashlight with a flimsy green plastic tube that came out the top. 25 years later, lightsabers have become as refined and mature as I am (yes, I understand that I’m a 28 year old talking about toy swords for grownups without irony). Entertainment Earth is releasing the Force FX Lightsaber Construction Kit that lets you truly geek out and build/customize your own lightsaber. It comes with multiple pieces of five different components that allow for “one of over 700 possible configurations of lightsaber!” I’m not sure how that math adds up, but I’ll go with it. This is a pretty cool idea, but I’m wondering if it’s possible to buy an extra blade so you can make a second full lightsaber out of the extra parts. It would be nice to do something with all those other pieces. This will be released sometime this month so if you have an extra 100 bucks, you can get one here.
