Great series. Maybe next time you could also talk about something veyr much connected to blind boxes: cheating!

I remember a story from when I lived in Taiwan. I wanted to get a specific figurine (can't recall which series...) and the clerk was telling me they didn't sell open boxes or know what figurines were in the blind boxes. I insisted and after a while he just handed me one. Indeed there was the toy I wanted.

Electronic scales, heat-guns, pin holes... I'm always happy when someone gets a rare toy at my store since it proves I'm honest!

good stuff, I loved reading every part. As i was reading what all these bloggers had to say i was thinking about one problem that I think is a serious issue in blind box cases. Toy shops now start to full their blind box cases that are on the shelf. As soon as a person picks one out, later that day a employee fills the empty spot with a blind box from a case in the box. There for most likely putting another common in that case you are choosing from. Thats why people end up grabbing 5 boxes and getting all the same figures. Reading what people had to say really made me want to go out and buy a blind box for the fun of it but also reminding me of why I have stopped trying to complete full sets. Great Series can't wait for another good article!

I waited till the full series was published before reading them all in one go. Well done. I like the five-part approach you took. Great reading.

Awesome, Jeremy. You're doing some great work here and really taking the time to explore all the ins and outs. It's stuff like this the keeps everybody honest. Thanks for being the guy asking the questions.

Every time I see a detolf, I pee a little.

Also, amazing art direction on choosing my icon there! Couldn't be more apropos if I made it myself.
