Something was left out: if manufacturers (or artists) want to sell window boxes, stores should be allowed to pick which models in the miniseries they want. The reason I didn't get the Mechtorians for the store is that I could see getting stuck with 2 or 3 of the 6 models. This -always- happens with window boxes (Unipos, Qees, Monster Theaters, Tcha!...). No offense to Dok A, I like all the models personally, but I strongly doubt the big wheels and gramophones sold as much as the Pods...

Following the logic that stores must sell at least two-thirds of a case to make any money, why bother getting them in the first place?

I think it would be so awesome if a bar did the blind beer thing(as long as non alcholics were not included) the idea of getting some cheap skunky swill one minute and some really nice handcrafted porter makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Good reading! I've made a custom for a friend once and put it in a blindbox, just for fun. Trying to get a toy that might be in one of 50 boxes (the transparent Koa dunny) is to much, so I gave up and bought comics :D

I don't always feel like "flipping" is bad. If you lie it up to an artist to get her to sign stuff and then sell it to a real fan for 3X the price, yes, you are a jackass. But open boxes and sets are different. I would rather buy OBs or complete sets on eBay, even at a "fair" markup, than wade through BBs. For the past year, I've been getting all my Qees from a guy in SF I met through eBay. What up, Preston!

Good Stuff! Great hearing from the artist, ha it would be funny designing a set of blind box figures even though you hate them. Lets hope the companies hook you up with your own complete set of your designs. :)

It sounds like the "flipping" that everyone says they despise is not driven by greedy entrepreneurs, but instead by toy designers who are sick of the blind box experience...

Really liked getting all these different points of view. At the end of the day it's what the artist wants to do that really matters, if we as consumers want the product we're gonna buy it blind box or not. Although I am disappointed more often than not there is something to finding a Huck Gee dunny or a golden ticket that raises the blood pressure a bit. I say I won't buy anymore Dunnys but when the next series comes out i'm sure some will find their way into my hands.
