The Le merde collection at the bottomcost that guy. at least 2400 dollars and is worth much more. just to give the casual collectors an idea of what the hardcores are willing to spend. I don't even want to get into the huck collection above it

On the diagram, I think of D... Blind boxes can be fun or poopy depending on how much you care about the ones you get, i.e., little gift for a cubical collector coworker (when you would have otherwise gotten them a lotto card) or collecting for myself!

I lost most hope for KR's blind boxes with the [adult swim] series. After buying 5 and getting 4 of the same Squidbilly, I really didn't want to waste the cash anymore. Excitement and mystery turns into disappointment and frustration pretty quickly at iteration #3 - but with customizable forms less so.

^^^^^^

"Sealed box: I like the thrill of not knowing, that alone is worth spending the cash. I’m tempted to open it however, I don’t wan’t my money to go to waste if I see something and I dislike it. Strange enough the mystery is enough to allure me to spend my money on something so needless."

You could do the same with scratch lotto tickets....

I know some folks who just buy the blind boxes and never open them, but then again I know some other folks who open every box they get. I asked both groups the other day what was the appeal in their strategy and I chose the best 2 answers, this is what I got....

Sealed box: I like the thrill of not knowing, that alone is worth spending the cash. I'm tempted to open it however, I don't wan't my money to go to waste if I see something and I dislike it. Strange enough the mystery is enough to allure me to spend my money on something so needless.

Open Box: I open every box because I love toys regardless of rarity or style. I'm a toy collector and once you build the habit, it never goes away. I don't discriminate because of the fact that each time I open a box and I smell the fresh vinyl, my addiction is satisfied. They are like pringles, once you pop the fun don't stop.

So those two answers alone gave me an insight on how these two groups thoughts differ. Sealed boxes = Lure of Myster and Open Box = Pure fun!

Now those answers don't speak for everyone, but they do show you 2 different angles that MAY come from those who purchase Blind Boxes.
