Blind Art Project Opens Eyes, Wallets

I read about this great project [via Clutter in the UK] too late to get in on it. Selling was to start today at 9PM, and I thought, great I’ve got several hours to scrape up £25. Too bad that’s 9PM GMT. Everything was gone by 9AM PST (when I checked), if not much earlier.

However, it’s still worth some de-facto press. Curated by Squink! and hosted by Octane3, The Blind Art Project was a 100% charity affair. All money raised by the project went directly to the Royal National Institute of Blind People.

20 Artists (including: Brian Taylor, Cupco, Delme, DGPH, Doktor. A, Drew Millward, Hicalorie, Huck Gee, Jon Burgerman, LEX, Lou Pimentel, Peskimo, Playskewl, Sam Fout, Sichi, Sket-One, Squink!, Tado, Tortoy & Cecy Meade) donated an 8″ square artwork, produced exclusively for the Blind Project. The works were blind packed and will remain a mystery until the buyers open the envelopes.

Now that all the work has been sold, a gallery of the images should be showing up here.
