I think I need to actively start learning to speak and read Japanese because the Google translator just isn’t doing me any favors lately (though it does make my job a little easier for sure). I just got drawn into a Wonderfulman vortex wherein I spied this figure on One Up and then clicked a lot of links and translated a bunch of text and now I kind of have a headache. Luckily, toy culture is visual and fans can be forgiving. So I’ll give you what I’ve got, and if you know the story of this guy (who reminds me of Zero Heroes), write in and tell me please.
Wonderful Design Works was launched in 1993 to create graphic design, character designs and t-shirts. Within the past few weeks, they dropped several colorways of their signature character, Wonderfulman Ziro. The all-black version immediately sold out, but Googling around, I found the black and white version, the green Beams T version and the red Spanky version still available for 10,290 Yen ($98 USD). The blue version is available here for a bit more. Wonderfulman Ziro stands nearly 14 inches tall and has articulated arms. Can’t afford the vinyl? How about a Wonderfulman blow-up doll? I found them online for under $10 via Australia, a rare place where the US dollar is still worth the paper its printed on.
