Medicom Toy has just publicly announced some of the details of their newest series of the beloved cherished and madly collected Be@rbricks. Coming soon will be the release of Series 17.
Two of the artists that will be featured in this new series are Alexander Girard and The World of Golden Eggs. Alexander Girard (1907-1993) is famous for his bold prints and patterns featuring suns, hearts and oodles of whimsy. There have been several recent collaborations using Girard’s art with projects such as purse designer Kate Spade, carpets, and floor pillows. It’ll be great to see what kind of Girard magic will be applied to the Be@rbrock form.
As familiar as I am with Alexander Girard’s work, I know nothing of the World of Golden Eggs. But apparently it is a comedic animated show that airs on MTV in Japan. It takes place in a fictional US town.
