If you’re in a certain tax bracket, you’re probably getting ready for the big Pop Culture auction at Christies [blogged here and here]. The rest of us will just have to daydream about it. Do you think it’s a sign that the auction takes place on my birthday (June 25)? One can only dream.

As expected, a lot of the designer vinyl have really high estimates. For example, this 20″ Kong Dunny by Sket One has an estimate of $3,000-5,000. Amanda Visell’s Gnome has the same estimate.

If I had that kind of disposable income, I’d have to go with these Gary Baseman Dunnys. The 8″ Dunnys are both signed and come with “additional doodles.” I’d be interested in the extra doodling. The pair are estimated for $400-600. That’s not too expensive, but that’s still outside of my budget. I’ll just have to be happy with the 3″ Baseman Dunny I own.

I'm a nerd who loves music, movies, graphic novels, and of course toys. I grew up in Los Angeles, and I currently live in the non-plastic part of Orange County. I'm a sucker for anything that is little and cute: plushies, Dunnys, Smorkin' Labbits, zipper pulls. My collection is dominated by Kozik and Uglydolls, and my latest obsession is IWG/Rocket World.
