Exciting ToyCyte changes

I’m pleased to announce that Jeremy Brautman has been promoted to Editor-in-Chief of ToyCyte. Jeremy has been a lifelong collector, beginning [...]

I have been a fan of Phu! and his custom work ever since I saw his Custom Soopa Coin-Up Brothers (and in fact inspired me to pick up one to mod myself). He let me know that he just finished up a 7″ Custom Smash for another private collection. I love what he uses most [...]

Following up on the last post, I thought of a few toys I’d like to see made, based off commercials and videos from the last year or so. Happiness Factor, Coca-Cola Coca-Cola started airing their Happiness Factory commercials in 2006, and they feature extensive 3D animation and bizarre characters worthy of vinyl. The brainchild of advertising superstars [...]

Being a total Mac Addict, I hate to admit that a Microsoft Zune ad — not an iPod ad —introduced me to what is now my favorite band, the The Black Angels. That said, I couldn’t help but notice a pleasing trend of anime/toy influenced creatures working their way into a slew of Zune commercials.
