ToyCyte: Toy Culture Collected

I don’t remember where I first saw Angry Woebots, but I remember liking his work as soon as I saw it. We’re all used to pandas being cuddly and cute. His version of ferocious pandas really appealed to me. Since then I’ve seen his name pop up all over the place. There is a nice article on him in Hi-Fructose vol. 6.

I’m amazed by this trio of custom Munnys he created. I think his artwork translates well to vinyl. Shown are two 20″ Munnys and an 8″ Munny. The 8″ and one of the 20″ has already been sold. To date, he still has one of the 20″ listed on his blog for a hefty price tag of $2000.

Currently he’s working on a project with artists Jim Mahfood and Peekaboo Monster. The trio are working on a commission for MTV studios/Spike TV’s new office. The project will be filmed and shown online so stay tuned for future updates. Keep track of Angry Woebots on his Army of Snipers blog.
