I love Memorial Day weekend. That’s when we make our annual family pilgrimage to Disneyland. The Matterhorn, Pirates of the Caribbean, and the Haunted Mansion, I’m a sucker for all those rides and I’m totally a believer that Disneyland is indeed the “happiest place on earth”. On this trip to ye olde magic kingdom, I noticed some awesomeness amongst the Mickey ears and Princess costumes, super cool Amanda Visell paintings and prints. You may already be aware that Amanda has done a couple of series of exclusive prints for Disneyland to celebrate various releases. Last February, for the 55th anniversary of the release of Peter Pan, she did a series of painting in celebration of the film. And guess what? Some of the original art from the series is still available! (as well as some prints). I am personally drooling over the Straight On Til Morning original, but sadly I don’t have $1500 laying around to shell out for it (if anyone wants to buy it for my birthday, well I’d be awfully grateful!). Also still available are Don’t Be Chicken (for $1500) and Mister Coote ($1000) from the series she did last year for the 40th anniversary of the Pirates of the Caribbean. These items are a Disneyland exclusive. Get ‘em while you can. You can email them at DL.DelivEARS@disney.go.com to get details on how to purchase.
