All Hail the Fetal Alien Queen

action figures

Not too many things are scary in their most pupa-like fetal forms, but Sideshow Toy’s Fetal Queen Maquette is definitely a junior creep of the highest caliber. Maybe it’s the giant teeth and ever-eyeless face, or the sleek grey skin, or the functionless arms, or maybe it’s the eerie resemblance to a human baby - the thing just gives me the willies. And to clarify, I’m not a fan of the willies.

The tight spiral of the figure, poised on an unusual pyramid base, stands over a foot tall and makes an excellent companion to Palisades Toys’ own coiled alien statue released many years ago. Hand painted and numbered in an undetermined edition, the queen fetus is even removable from the base via a system of magnets. Feminists, art enthusiasts, people who just like the art of H.R. Giger ’cause it’s kinda pervy, fetus collectors or spiral fetishists - this one’s for you.
