From the crazy world of Silver Age of comics, when science remorselessly made huge-eyebrowed space babies and magic spat out dinosaur aliens from neighboring planes, comes the Super Adaptoid, and he’s captured here for the first time in three dimensions by Bowen Designs.
I’m particularly fond of the Super Adaptoid for four reasons. First, he’s painted up as if he just tumbled out of a vintage Game Boy. Second, his superpowers tend to encompass… well, every frickin’ superpower. Third, he’s a robot, and if I have to explain beyond that, you’d probably hate me. And fourth, he’s a visual amalgamation of a whole team of iconic superheroes. I promise you that if you somehow conjoined the entirely of Led Zeppelin into one giant mega-being, it wouldn’t be nearly this pretty. Yes, even when they were all young.
The mini-bust will measure 8″ tall, cost about $90, and be released during the summer of 2009, alongside fellow green robot-guy Titanium Man.
