WOW. We’re big fans of the art of Alex Pardee, and we’ve been devotedly following his 2D art, solo shows, group shows, skatedecks, film, book and clothing line. But in the back of our heads, we’ve been biding our time and waiting for a toy. Sure, there’s been some plush and a platform Dunny and Gwin, but what we really wanted was to see some of Alex’s original characters leap into the third dimension of vinyl. Thanks to Upper Playground, we’re going to get it.
Alex Pardee and Upper Playground have teamed up to create a version of UP’s Walrus logo set for release in early February. The figure has a distinctly Bunnywith face and features Alex’s recurring C.H.U.D. character. While the figure is still in development, we’re happy to bring you some images of the early prototypes, along with Alex’s notes. Even at this early stage, I know this is a must have for me.
And speaking of Alex and UP, don’t miss his Letters from Digested Children solo show, opening tonight in San Francisco. I’ll be there. Will you?
