OK so we’re slowly coming around to Twitter, and it’s things like this that give the technology a +1. Jason notice Albert Art as a follower of ToyCyte Tweets, and sent me his links. I quickly dug his old-school customs (like the Bomberman above). Now I’m liking the guy even more because he’s throwing down a Recession sale.
Everyone deserves a little art to brighten their day, especially in these tough economic times. In an effort to make designer art and vinyl toys more accessible to the public, I’m offering art lovers a chance to get their hands on Albert Art for less than $100USD.
The catch? You get a random but cool design, on either a painting or toy, depending on what you order. You have little say in what I create, but I promise it will be well worth it. For me it’s an exercise in creativity, for you, it is a chance to own something unique direct from the artist. Kind of like a Kinder surprise!
I’m sure you are all familiar with the concept that I don’t like surprises, but I’m coming around. All paintings ($55) are on 8×8 wood panel or canvas, and all toys ($95) are 7-inch Kidrobot Munnys sans Sculpey. Check out a few examples of Albert’s Art below, and head over to Albert’s blog and Flickr to see more. If you enjoy a little mystery in your life, this is affordable original fun art in harsh times. Very cool!
