designers, plastic

Color me obsessed. I just can’t stop checking out on what’s happening on eBay in the designer and urban vinyl category. Yesterday, as spied on the KidRobot discussion board, the KAWS complete set of Chums, originally produced in 2002 by the 360 Toy Group, sold for, hold on to your seat, $6600.00. Yup. This set of pink, yellow, white, clear and signed black were is “flawless” condition and came with their original bags. Evidently the person who bought it also got a Mono Dissected Chum Be@rbrick for $800 recently and has stocked up on Ledbetter and Dunnys, a collector with great taste and some deep pockets. Check out the whole discussion on the price paid on the Kidrobot boards here.

They had the Chums at the Beautiful Losers show at YBCA SF back in 2004ish. I wish I had gotten one, but I remember thinking they were expensive. Now look.
